Kochi Metro Rail Limited and Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) are likely to partner to develop a 3 km underground line at Nedumbassery connecting Cochin International Airport under the Kochi metro rail project phase-III. CIAL is expected to fund around Rs 10 billion for the same.
Phase III involves extension of the existing metro system in Kochi, Kerala. It is likely to be implemented in two corridors namely, Aluva to Kochi Airport via Athani (corridor 1) and Athani to Angamali (corridor 2).
