Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has achieved the breakthrough of a 3.3 km long escape tunnel between portal-1 and Adit-5 under package VI in connection with the Rishikesh-Karanprayag new rail line project.
The project involves laying of a 125.09 km long new railway line connecting Rishikesh, in the foothills of the Himalayas, to Karanprayag in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand with an investment of Rs 227.16 billion.
