Madhya Pradesh government grants in-principle approval Indore-Ujjain metro rail project

The government of Madhya Pradesh has granted in-principle approval for the Indore-Ujjain metro rail project.

Additionally, a separate track is expected to be laid for the rapid rail transit system between Indore and Ujjain.

Plans are underway for development of two metro rail corridors from Indore to Ujjain and Indore to Pithampur in Madhya Pradesh. The two corridors will span 84 km. The first phase of this project involves connecting Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain and the Nanakheda Bus Stand to Lavkush Chauraha in Indore.
