On October 20, 2024, the Rewa Airport in Madhya Pradesh, the Ambikapur Airport in Chhatisgarh, and the Saharanpur Airport in Uttar Pradesh were inaugurated.
These airports were developed under the Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS) Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik (UDAN), and flight operations are expected to commence soon.
The RCS UDAN was launched on October 21, 2016, and the first flight was inaugurated in April 2017. With the aim to enhance accessibility of air travel, it has facilitated the travel of over 14.4 million passengers.
