The Noida International Airport, Uttar Pradesh has witnessed the completion of the calibration for the instrument landing system (ILS) and the precision approach path indicator (PAPI).
The calibration was carried out by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) with support from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). Processes commenced on October 10, 2024, with the Beech King Air 360 ER from AAI and witnessed completion on October 14, 2024.
The ILS is a radio navigation system that offers pilots precise guidance during approach and landing, especially during conditions of low visibility, aiding in maintaining operational efficiency and reducing delays at airports. The PAPI is a system of lights beside the runway, that provide pilots with visual indication for the correct descent angle during the final approach.
