Phase II of Thuraiyur Bypass to be completed by April 2025

The Tamil Nadu Highways Department is set to complete phase II of the Thuraiyur Bypass by April 2025. Currently, 30 per cent of the project is finished, with the road’s gravel formation almost done and 21 out of 24 culverts completed. The second phase, covering a 5.20 km stretch from Perambalur Road Junction to Arthur Road Junction, is being constructed by the Highways Department’s Projects Wing.

The two-lane road will feature a 12-metre-wide carriageway, two high-level overbridges, and improvements at three major road junctions. Once completed, the bypass will form a semi-ring road around Thuraiyur, connecting key state highways and significantly reducing traffic congestion in the town.
