The Tripura government laid the foundation stone for an Asian Development Bank-funded water supply scheme in Tripura on September 20, 2024. The project aims to provide water supply to 12 towns, namely, Udaipur, Amarpur, Belonia, Melaghar, Bishramganj, Khowai, Ranir Bazar, Mohanpur, Dharmanagar, Kailashhar, Kumarghat and Ambassa. It encompasses the installation of 305 km of new water pipelines, 25 deep tubewells, 18 iron removal plants and four water treatment facilities. The project will be executed in three phases across three years at an estimated cost of Rs 5,300 million.
