The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) has recommended the stage-I clearance of 6.10 hectares (ha) of forest land under the Kangra Airport runway expansion project.
About 147 ha of land is required for the project, of which the acquisition of about 122 ha of private land is in the final stages and the remaining 25 ha of government land is yet to be cleared.
Besides, the project is likely to entail an investment of Rs 40.64 billion.
