Trial runs under the Navi Mumbai International Airport project are likely to commence from October 5, 2024.
Besides, domestic operations are likely to commence from March 2025 and international from June 2025. Additionally, the City Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) has inspected the site.
The project, being implemented by the Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL), involves the development of a greenfield airport in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra in five phases on a design, build, finance, operate, and transfer basis under the public-private partnership model at an estimated cost of Rs 413.02 billion. Phases I and II involve adding a passenger capacity of 20 million passengers per annum (mppa) and a cargo handling capacity of 0.8 million tonnes per annum.
