Expansions underway at Prayagraj airport, Uttar Pradesh 

Commencing next month, the Prayagraj airport terminal building, Uttar Pradesh is set to witness an increase in the passenger handling capacity from 350 to 850 passengers at a time.

The current terminal building is witnessing an expansion from 6,700 square meters to 20,830 square meters. Simultaneous works are being carried out, where expansions are underway, and the current building’s space is being developed in order to increase the facilities. Ongoing works include the construction of the upper floor of the arrival section, apron expansion to accommodate around 10 small aircraft, an additional taxiway and increasing the car parking capacity.

By December 2024, the airport would feature the highest number of X-ray machines and check-in counters in the state to standing at 11 and 42, respectively.
