The central government plans to sanction highway projects over Rs 3 trillion in 2024-25, continuing its strong focus on expanding the country’s transport infrastructure. Recently, eight high-speed corridor projects covering 936 km, valued at Rs 506.55 billion, have received approval.
Additionally, four major projects worth Rs 600 billion are expected to be presented to the Cabinet in the coming weeks. Among these, the Surat-Solapur corridor in Gujarat and Maharashtra, costing over Rs 200 billion, and the Shillong-Silchar stretch, estimated at around Rs 250 billion, are two key projects.
