Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) handled 2,930,700 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) of containers and 37.42 million tonnes of total cargo from April to August period of FY 2024-25, an increase of 12.73 per cent and 6.20 per cent, respectively, compared to the corresponding period of FY 2023-24.
The port handled 2,657 container rakes and 422,465 TEUs during April to August period of FY 2024-25, as compared to 2,591 rakes and 415,287 TEUs during the corresponding period of FY 2023-24.
JNPA handled 639,336 TEUs of containers and 7.89 million tonnes of total cargo in August 2024. In August 2024, Bharat Mumbai Container Terminal and APM Terminal recorded 202,071 TEUs and 192,137 TEUs, respectively, their all-time highest monthly container volume handled since inception.
