Kinet Railway Solutions (Kinet), a joint venture between Indian Railway’s Rail Vikas Nigam Limited and Russia’s Metrowagonmash and Locomotive Electronic Systems has commissioned operations at Maharashtra’s Marathwada Rail Coach Factory (MRCF) in Latur for the production of Vande Bharat sleeper coaches. With this, the serial assembly of the Vande Bharat sleeper coaches has also been initiated.
Further, the MRCF facility will be equipped with 11 upgraded assembly stations and various professional workshops like warehouse, assembly, and car body shop, among others. Earlier, Kinet secured a contract for manufacturing a total of 1,920 Vande Bharat sleeper coaches along with their maintenance for a period of 35 years.
