BEML Limited has launched its prototype manufacturing facility for driverless metro trainsets. This is a part of the 5RS-DM project, which aims to enhance the infrastructure of the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited for lines 2 and 6, including the Bangalore airport line.
This project, valued at approximately Rs 31.77 billion, involves comprehensive responsibilities such as design, manufacturing, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of the trainsets.
Furthermore, BEML will provide maintenance services for up to 15 years as part of the Bangalore metro rail project phase 2, 2A, and 2B.
