Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs approves three rail projects

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved three railway projects worth Rs 64.56 billion to facilitate ease in transportation, minimise logistics cost, and lower carbon emissions. These are:

The Jamshedpur-Asansol’s new railway line project involves laying a 121 km new line from Jamshedpur to Asansol connecting Purulia at an estimated cost of Rs 21.7 billion in Jharkhand and West Bengal.

Sardega-Bhalumuda rail line doubling project involves doubling an existing 37 km line from Sardega in Sundargarh district to Bhalumuda in Raigarh district at an estimated cost of Rs 13.6 billion in Odisha and Chhattisgarh.

Bargarh road-Nawapara road new railway line project involves laying a 138 rkm new line from Bargarh road station to Nawapara road station at an estimated cost of Rs 29.26 billion in Odisha.
