MoRTH to accept single bids for national highway projects if conditions are met

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has announced that single bids for national highway projects will be accepted if they meet specific conditions. According to a recent circular, the bidding process will not be cancelled solely due to receiving only one bid, provided the tender was well-advertised, sufficient time was given for bid submission, the qualification criteria was not restrictive, and the bid prices are deemed reasonable compared to market values.

The evaluation committee is tasked with assessing the reasonableness of the prices by comparing them with similar contracts awarded elsewhere. The committee may also update the prices to reflect inflation, geographical conditions, and other relevant factors during the interim period. Additionally, adjustments may be made to account for the carriage of materials specific to the project under consideration.
