A new double elevated depot is likely to be developed for service and maintenance of driverless trains in Nookampalayam under the Chennai metro project phase II.
It is likely to be developed on land identified of about 700 metres from Sholinganallur Lake II station.
The project involves development of 118.9 km of three metro corridors (corridors III, IV and V) in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. It is mostly underground with elevated sections confined to a few short stretches and consists of 128 stations in total.
