Indian major ports handle 70.08 mt of cargo in July 2024

Indian major ports handled a cargo volume of 70.08 million tonnes (mt) in July 2024, an increase of 5.92 per cent year-on-year (YoY), as compared to July 2023 (66.17 mt).

Port-wise, Cochin Port registered the maximum cargo growth at 24.77 per cent, followed by Visakhapatnam Port with 10.80 per cent and Jawaharlal Nehru Port with 9.07 per cent, during the month under consideration.

Meanwhile, in July 2024 Mumbai Port and Mormugao Port witnessed a decline of 1.23 per cent and 1 per cent, respectively.
