State plans to extend Kochi water metro services from Kakkanad to Infopark, Kerala

The government of Kerala is planning to extend Kochi water metro services from Kakkanad to Infopark. The proposed plan involves the permanent removal of the Kozhichira bund in the Kadambrayar river and the construction of a new bridge at Brahmapuram.

The project involves development of an integrated water transport system, covering 78 km on 15 routes in Kochi in Kerala. It is partially being funded by the KfW Development Bank through a loan assistance and the remaining cost is being funded by the state government. The estimated cost of the entire project is Rs 11.36 billion.
