The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has announced that 71 highway projects, covering 1,604.48 km and costing Rs 466.17 billion, are currently being implemented in Tamil Nadu.
These projects aim to augment capacity, construct bypasses, bridges, and underpasses, and enhance road safety to improve the level of service for road users.
Key projects include the East Coast Road from Mamallapuram to Puducherry, Walajapet to the Andhra Pradesh-Tamil Nadu border, and the Vellakoil to Erode and Mettupalayam to Karnataka border sections. The initiatives will benefit the local economy and communities, with measures in place to ensure minimal disruption to residents and industries during construction.
