Track construction works have commenced on the Kanpur Central-Transport Nagar stretch of corridor 1 (Indian Institute of Technology-Naubasta) under the Kanpur metro rail project phase 1.
The casting of the track slab will be followed by the installation of derailment guards and preparations will be made for the installation of a third rail.
The Kanpur metro project involves development of 33 km long metro rail system in Uttar Pradesh at an investment of Rs 110.76 billion.
