The construction work on the Dwada water pumping station is likely to commence soon under the 24×7 Shimla Water Supply Project. The project has received forest clearance.
The pumping station is being developed as part of intake works at river Sutlej for drawing water for the 24×7 Shimla Water supply. Under this, three pumping stations are being developed at Dwada, Shikrodi and Dummi and 22 km of pipeline was to be laid to bring Sutlej water to Shimla near Shikroli village. Of this, only 1 km of pipeline is left to be laid and pumping stations at Shikrodi and Dummi are in the final stages of construction.
