The construction work on Kavaratti desalination Plant in Lakshadweep is likely to be completed soon.
The scope of work includes development of a 0.1 million litres per day (mld), further extendable to 0.15 mld low-temperature thermal desalination (LTTD) based desalination plant for drinking water supply at Kavaratti in Lakshadweep. The plant is being developed by the National Institute of Ocean Technology, Chennai.
