The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has commenced the instrument landing system testing at the Navi Mumbai International Airport on July 16, 2024. Besides, calibration testing at the airport has been completed.
The project, being implemented by the Mumbai International Airport Limited, involves the development of a greenfield airport in Navi Mumbai in Maharashtra in five phases on a design, build, finance, operate, and transfer basis under the public-private partnership model at an estimated cost of Rs 413.02 billion. Phase I and II involve adding a passenger capacity of 20 million passengers per annum (mppa) and a cargo handling capacity of 0.8 million tonnes per annum.
