The Government of Haryana laid the foundation stone for the fifth filtration unit at Chandu Budhera water treatment plant (WTP) in Haryana.
The scope of work involves augmentation of WTP by the construction of a 100 million litre per day capacity Unit-5 at an estimated cost of Rs 610 million. It is likely to be completed by 2025.
The overall scope of the project includes Centralised Integrated Water Management System including Chandu Budhera WTP that will be connected to Sector 5 with a 900 mm pipeline which will cover over 90 underground tanks present in Sectors 9, 9A, 7, 4 12, New Colony etc.
