The Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways has approved a research proposal on the valorisation of dredged sediments.
The valorisation of dredged sediments refers to the reuse of sediments as raw material for civil engineering and other purposes. It can be a sustainable solution to reduce the strain on natural resources and eliminate waste.
Sanctioned at an estimated cost of Rs 4.65 billion, the project will be implemented by the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay over a duration of three years.
