Eastern Railway has commenced land acquisition of 507.75 acres of land for the Mahagama-Pirpainti section in connection with the Pirpainti-Jasidih new railway line project. Besides, land acquisition for the 28 km long Godda-Mahagam section has been completed.
The project involves laying of a 97 km long railway line connecting Pirpainti and Jasidih in Bihar and Jharkhand respectively with an investment of Rs 21.37 billion.
