APM Terminals Mumbai transitions to 80 per cent renewable electricity

APM Terminals Mumbai, Gateway Terminals India (GTI), has recently transitioned to 80 per cent renewable electricity with the commissioning of a 10.65 megawatt captive solar power plant through a power purchase agreement model with O2 Power.

With this, the terminal’s carbon dioxide equivalent emissions will be reduced by more than the projected 15,000 tonnes annually resulting in a 41 per cent reduction in carbon emissions.

Besides, the GTI will soon sign a memorandum of understanding with the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authorities to develop shore power for vessels calling at its terminal.
