Air Kerala received the initial no-objection certificate (NOC) from the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA). The low-cost airline, founded by Dubai-based entrepreneurs, is registered as Zettfly Aviation. It will be Kerala’s first regional airline post-operationalisation.
The airline has reportedly received permission to operate scheduled commuter air transport services for three years. The airline has to acquire aircraft and ensure that regulatory requirements are adhered to in order to obtain the Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC).
As per initial plans, the airline aims to commence operations using three ATR 72-600 aircraft, focusing on connecting Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities to Tier 1 and metro airports. Further, international operations are likely to be considered once the fleet size reaches 20 aircraft.
