The Marine Drive-Haji Ali northbound section of the Mumbai Coastal Road Project was opened for public use on June 11, 2024. Construction work on the project is likely to be completed by October 2024. It involves the construction of a 29.2 km-long (10.58 km in Phase I) eight-lane coastal road, which will run parallel to the existing stretch going from Nariman Point to Kandivali in Maharashtra, at an investment of Rs 130.6 billion. The Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai is implementing the project under EPC mode.
