Orbit Connect India, a JV between Jio Platforms and SES, has received approval from the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre (IN-SPACe) to operate satellites for high speed internet in India. IN-SPACe granted three approvals to the JV in April and June 2024, allowing Orbit Connect to position satellites over India. However, further approvals from DoT are still required to commence services.
