GAIL plans Rs 600 billion investment for Sehore ethane cracking unit

GAIL (India) Limited is planning to invest Rs 600 billion in the Sehore ethane cracking unit. The company has requested the Madhya Pradesh government to provide suitable enablers for setting up the project. Moreover, Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation Limited will provide around 800 hectares of land for which the state government has initiated the acquisition process. The project involves setting up an ethane cracking unit at Ashta in Sehore, Madhya Pradesh, with a production capacity of 1.5 mtpa. The foundation stone for the project is likely to be laid by February 2025; with commercial operations are likely to start by March 2031.
