Indian Railways (IR) has achieved freight revenue of Rs 147.98 billion in June 2024, which is 11.12 per cent higher than the freight revenue in June 2023.
Meanwhile, IR registered freight loading of 135.46 million tonnes (mt) in June 2024 as against 123.06 mt in June 2023.
Commodity wise, it achieved loading of 60.27 mt in coal, 15.07 mt in iron ore, 10.06 mt in balance other goods, 8.82 mt in imported coal, 7.56 mt in cement, 6.97 mt in containers, 5.36 mt in pig iron and finished steel, 5.30 mt in fertilisers, 5.28 mt in clinker, 4.21 mt in foodgrains and 4.18 mt in mineral oil.
