The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has earmarked Rs 80.06 billion in its 2024-2025 budget for the development of 470 km of roads in Karnataka. Additionally, Rs 0.15 billion has been sanctioned for the preparation of detailed project reports (DPR) for the construction of 459 km of new roads.
Notably, a 12 km bypass to NH-52, passing through Navalgund town in the Dharwad Lok Sabha constituency, will be constructed at a cost of Rs 3.50 billion, with land acquisition already underway. The MoRTH has also allocated Rs 2.5 million for the DPR preparation of an elevated corridor from Channamma Circle in Hubballi to Bidnal Cross towards Bengaluru near Bankapur Chowk, and Rs 4.1 million for the DPR preparation of a ring road from Kusugal to Narendra Cross.
