The Prayagraj Municipal Corporation (PMC), Uttar Pradesh has selected eight roads in Prayagraj for development under the first phase of the ‘Chief Minister Grid Scheme’. This project aims to eventually cover 34 roads across the city. The selected roads will be transformed with proper dividers, pedestrian-friendly footpaths, and greenery along roadsides or dividers, with maintenance managed by the municipal corporation. The roads identified for the first phase are in Dhumanganj, Pritam Nagar, Khuldabad, and Tagore Town.
The project includes sections from the Dharamveer statue in Transport Nagar to the Port Station, the Dhumanganj police station to the Abubakarpur turning in Pritam Nagar, and the Kendranchal Gate to ARK Tower in Pritam Nagar. Other sections include the Judges Colony to Machhli Mandi trisection in Lukerganj, the Machhli Mandi trisection to Dhanshyamnagar Colony in Lukerganj, the Gol Park intersection to the Power House, KP Inter College to Jawahar Lal Nehru Road in Tagore Town, and Kriti Scanning Centre to Liddle Road behind CMP Degree College. The municipal corporation has issued a national-level tender for this road construction work.
