The Tamil Nadu Government will set up an international airport in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. The airport would be set up on an area of 2,000 acres of land and would have a passenger handling capacity of 30 million passengers per annum (mppa).
It would likely meet the rising industrial needs in the districts of Krishnagiri and Dharmapuri, and aid in the socio-economic development of the region. Reportedly, the airport would also foster a twin-city ecosystem with Bengaluru in Karnataka, hence pushing growth in both the states.
