Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has achieved electrification of a total of 2,583 route km (rkm) of its network till March 2024. This is 61 per cent of the total 4,260 rkm of the zone’s network. State-wise, it achieved electrification of 1,229.36 rkm in Assam, 864.93 rkm in West Bengal, 318.87 rkm in Bihar, 151.59 rkm in Tripura, 9.58 rkm in Meghalaya, 6 rkm in Nagaland and 2.81 rkm in Manipur.
Besides, during 2023-24, electrification of 921.62 rkm was achieved.
Electrification work is being executed by Indian Railway Construction International Limited (IRCON), Rail India Technical and Economic Service (RITES) and NFR.
