The Ministry of Railways (MoR) conducted first trial run on Sangaldan-Reasi section of the Jammu-Udhampur-Katra-Qazigund-Baramulla new rail line project.
The project involves laying of 345 km long new railway line joining the Kashmir Valley with Indian Railways (IR) network from Jammu to Baramulla via Udhampur, Katra and Qazigund with an investment of Rs 419.31 billion. It is expected to provide an alternative and a reliable transportation system to Jammu and Kashmir.
