The Bihar Cabinet approved metro rail services in four cities including Muzaffarpur, Gaya, Darbhanga, and Bhagalpur on June 20, 2024.
The feasibility reports for these projects will be prepared soon followed by the finalisation of detailed project reports (DPR). The project costs will be shared, with the central and state governments each contributing 20 per cent, while the remaining 60 per cent will be funded by financial institutions.
