The 20 km stretch of National Highway-37 from Silchar to Budha Nagar in Assam is being upgraded to a 4-lane highway and is anticipated to be completed by December 2024.
In January 2024, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) sanctioned Rs 9.57 billion for this project. Upon completion, this highway will enhance connectivity between Barak Valley and the states of Mizoram, Manipur, and Meghalaya, thereby promoting regional development and easing transportation.
