E-gates at Mumbai airport rise to 68

The number of e-gates at the Mumbai airport for both DigiYatra and other passengers have been doubled. Terminal entry points have been increased to 68, making it the airport with the highest number of e-gates at the airport landside.

The waiting time at the kerbside has been reduced to less than a minute. Terminal 2 features 28 e-gates each for DigiYatra and other users, while terminal 1 features six gates each. The passenger processing capacity at the airport has been increased to around 8,000 passengers per hour.

Additionally, 118 e-gates are being deployed at the pre-embarkation security check of terminal 2. The airport also has plans to implement AI-ML-enabled cameras for security at the kerbside.
