The Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) has conducted a safety inspection on the 4.5 km long Majorda-Cansaulim section of the Hospet-Hubli-Londa-Tinaighat-Vasco da Gama railway line doubling project. Besides, speed trials were also conducted on the stretch at the speed of 108 kmph.
The project involves doubling of 352.28 km long existing rail line between Hospet and Vasco da Gama in Karnataka and Goa, respectively with an investment of Rs 42.54 billion. It is being executed in two phases: Phase I: Hospet-Tinaighat section (245 km) and Phase II: Tinaighat-Vasco da Gama section (107.28 km).
