The Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) conducted a safety inspection on the 10 km long Charkhari road-Kulpahar section under the Jhansi-Khairar-Manikpur and Bhimsen-Khairar rail lines doubling project. Besides, speed trials were also conducted on the stretch at the speed of 120 kmph.
The project involves doubling and electrification of existing 411 km long Jhansi-Khairar-Manikpur and Bhimsen-Khairar railway lines in Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh at an estimated cost of Rs 43.29 billion. It will cover the districts of Jhansi, Mahoba, Banda and Chitrakut Dham in Uttar Pradesh and Chhatarpur in Madhya Pradesh.
