Tunnel work has been completed on downline between Kanpur Central – Nayaganj stretch of the Kanpur Metro Rail Project-Phase I. Upline work on the stretch has been completed. With this, underground metro network has been extended from Motijheel to Kanpur Central Station. Besides, track works are likely to commence soon.
The Kanpur Metro Project involves development of 33 km long metro rail system in Uttar Pradesh at an investment of Rs 110.76 billion.
