The government of Tamil Nadu is finding ways to use treated wastewater for greening urban areas in the state. According to the Departments of Environment, Climate Change, and Forests, an ‘Urban Greening Policy’ is in the draft stage under the Green Tamil Nadu Mission.
It has become important that urban areas receive a programme for greening, especially with Tamil Nadu being the most urbanised state in India. An important part of these efforts would be to reuse treated wastewater.
