Western Railway (WR) has completed the doubling work of the 9.51 km long Rau-Mhow (Dr. Ambedkarnagar) rail section under the Ratlam-Mhow-Khandwa-Akola gauge conversion project. Besides, speed trials for the same were conducted on May 30, 2024.
The project involves conversion of the existing 472.64 km long meter gauge (MG) line into broad gauge (BG) railway line between Ratlam and Akola via Mhow and Khandwa in Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra, respectively at an investment of Rs 62.03 billion.
