Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T) has achieved second tunnel breakthrough under package PC-03 for the Patna Metro Rail Project – Phase I. PC-03 involves design and construction of twin tunnel by shield tunnel boring machine (TBM), tunnel by cut and cover, underground ramp at Rajendra Nagar and six underground station viz. Rajendra Nagar, Moin Ul Haq Stadium, University, Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH), Gandhi Maidan and Akashvani with entry/exits and connecting subway including architectural finishing, water supply, sanitation installation and drainage works in Corridor 2.
Phase I of the project involves the development of a 31.39 km long metro rail network in Patna, Bihar at an estimated cost of Rs 139.25 billion. It involves the development of two corridors, viz. corridor 1 (Danapur Cantonment-Mithapur) and corridor 2 (Patna Junction-Patna interstate bus terminal).
