Operations on Bengaluru’s Namma Metro yellow line 19 km route from RV road to Bommasandra is likely to commence in December 2024. The Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) will conduct a comprehensive inspection to ensure adherence to safety protocols before passenger services commence.
Currently, the Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) is rigorously testing the yellow line’s operations with comprehensive trials, including 36 different aspects, using a China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation (CRRC) train.
The BMRCL is expecting the delivery of first set of driverless coaches for its yellow line by Titagarh Rail Systems Limited by August 2024. It will supply 14 six-coach communications-based train control (CBTC) trains for the yellow line between August 2024 and February 2025.
