Kolkata Metro Railway is planning to launch operations on the 2.4 km Airport-Haldiram segment of the New Garia-Airport orange line by the end of 2024.
The Kolkata airport station will serve as an interchange between the orange and yellow lines. Furthermore, the orange line will initiate services from both ends, rather than solely from New Garia.
The Noapara-Airport stretch of the yellow line is expected to become operational within the same timeframe. Currently, the stretch between New Garia and Ruby is operational.
