Kolkata Metro introduces unified payments interface-based ticketing system for commuters

In a move to enhance convenience for commuters, Kolkata Metro is set to implement unified payments interface (UPI)-based ticketing system along its East-West Metro corridor (Green Line).

This UPI-based ticketing system will eliminate the need for commuters to pay in cash at ticket counters. Collaborating with the State Bank of India and the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS), Metro Railway authorities aim to extend it further to other corridors including the Dakshineswar-New Garia, Ruby-New Garia, and Joka-Taratala stretches.
